TEHRAN: THE MESSAGE OF THE POLITICAL PRISONER, ALI MOEZZI ON OCCASION OF MAY DAY

Political prisoner Ali Moezi, detained in the Great Tehran Penitentiary, in a message congratulated the May Day to all the toilers and workers in Iran. His message is as follow,
I congratulate May 1 the international worker’s day to all dear workers, whose products of their labors are the source of our lives’ stability. We honor this day
by banning the interference of the agents of the anti-workers devious regime of Iran, that are insisted to violate, transform, distort, and contaminate May Day and its ceremonies.
In our homeland, where everything is aberrant, workers and all wage-earner strata are retarded more than any other era and have become poorer each day. It does not make any difference if these wage earners are physicians at the hospitals, teachers, nurses, workers at factories, and farms or construction workers.
The doubled deprivation of these wage-earners is due to the nature and structure of the clerical regime because this system and its policies basically oppose work and production. On the contrary, this system is match to importing the inferior goods and smuggling by their kith and kin, robbery, embezzlement, rent, monopoly and discrimination, corruption and bribes, therefore there are no solutions to poverty and unemployment in tis regime.
Another is that the inflation, the high cost of living and financial corruption put pressure on the wage-earner strata, more than others.
Third, despite the adoption of a minimum wage low, which does not even cover one person's expenses, the unemployment and hunger have pushed the toiler strata of the society to work for even half of the minimum wage under the visible and invisible suppressive conditions and terms alike the slavery era. The last point is that the Iranian workers are deprived of the right to have free and independent labor and trade unions with supporter members, and their gatherings, strikes, and protests are suppressed and end to arrest and imprisonment.
Therefore, in such a situation, the protests and strikes of the workers and the wage-earners are effective just if they are in-line with the national-wide struggle of the Iranian people for overthrowing the murderous and corrupt regime in Iran. Because as this regime is in power, there is no solution for the agony of workers and the toilers and other problems, including ethnicities and minorities, or issues of women and youths.
